SurfLewis run by Rodney 'Cheggs' Jamieson offers beginner and intermediate surf lessons throughout the beaches of Lewis and Harris. All equipment is supplied (wetsuit, surfboards, leash and boots). Cheggs is a Surf Lifesaving GB qualified Beach Lifeguard and British Surf Association qualified Surf Instructor.

The island of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides offers some of the best surfing conditions in Europe. Located North West of the Scottish mainland, the area offers the visitor a unique Hebridean experience.

What we do best:
The surf lesson is a 2 ½ hour BSA approved structure lesson. This covers safety, use of equipment, correct positioning on board, catching waves, standing and riding waves and general beach awareness. This includes all hire. Courses are also available for progression, please inquire for individual packages.

Equipment provided?
Surfboard and leash suited to your size, age and ability, 5mm full wetsuit, wetsuit boots.
What do I need to wear?
Trunks, shorts or swimsuit
What do I need to bring?
Something to drink, warm clothes and enthusiasm.
When can I do it?
All year but preferably from April to October
