Activities available
River Duckies
Splash now offer another great way to experience rafting on the River Tay in 2-person inflatable river duckies! Duckies are a cross between a white water raft and a kayak, and provide the ultimate white water thrill for both beginners and more advanced paddlers. Perfect for exploring the white water rapids in smaller groups, you can control your own journey down the river while our expert guides keep a watchful eye over you to ensure your safety.
Duckies also have the advantage of runing all year round, every day of the week - the more rain, the bigger the rapids! If you have already tried white water rafting, duckies are a great way to enjoy a different experience - guaranteed 100% enjoyment!
River duckies cost just £45 per person, with reduced rates available for children (12-15 yrs) and groups - or why not combine river duckies with another Splash activity (white water rafting, river bugs, canyoning) and enjoy a fantastic day of adventure for just £85 per person.
Splash provide all equipment required for river duckies, including helmets, wetsuits, paddles, splash bags and lifejackets, as well as free professional photography which you can download and share after your trip.
Canyoning
Canyoning - a combination of gorge walking, cliff jumping, abseiling and scrambling - is now firmly established as a adventure sport in Scotland, and at Splash we offer many canyons, including our two most popular canyons close to our base in Aberfeldy: Keltneyburn and Acharn Canyon.
Keltneyburn is an ideal canyoning spot for those who are relatively new to the sport, and will see you spend a half-day gorge walking, jumping off rocky cliffs, scrambling along rivers and sliding down river chutes.
Acharn Canyon is more technical and ideal for canyoners with a little more confidence and looking for adventure! A half-day Acharn canyoning experience will see you gorge walking, cliff jumping, abseiling, scrambling and more along a stunning river close to Aberfeldy.
Why not try both canyons - a full day canyoning both Acharn and Keltneyburn costs just £90 per person! A half day's canyoning experience starts at just £45 per person, with reduced rates available for children and groups of 10+. Included in the price is all equipment required (over £150 worth of wetsuits, splash bags, helmets, and lifejackets), full safety briefing and free professional photography.
River Bugging
River Bugs are the latest things to hit the UK shores from New Zealand, 1-person rafts that are like a giant inflatable armchair! Splash run river bugging trips on the River Tummel and River Tay all year round, 7 days a week.
River bugs are a great way to play on the river if you want that little bit more excitement, and are ideal for summer river levels as you don't have to wait for the rain to gain the thrills of the outdoors! Splash pioneered river bugging in Scotland, and as such we are the most experience provider of this fun outdoor activity.
After receiving expert instruction from our experienced river bug guides, we'll get you out on the water (complete with your webbed gloves) and help you negotiate your own path down the white water rapids.
River bugging with Splash costs just £50 per person, with discounts available for children (12-15 yrs) and groups - as with all Splash activities you can combine River Bugging with another activity and we'll offer you a reduced total price.
White Water Rafting
Splash are one of the UK's largest and most respected rafting operators, with trips available all year round on the River Tay, River Tummel, River Findhorn, River Orchy and River Spey.
White water rafting on the River Tay is a six mile half-day experience starting from Aberfeldy, winding along the Tay Valley through rolling hills and past abundant wildlife. The river soon drops away and you navigate down rapids such as 'Zoom Flume' and 'The Washing Machine' finishing off with the 'Grandtully Rapid'.
For more experienced rafters looking for adventure we recommend rafting on the River Tummel, featuring Grade III/IV rapids. This must-do experience will get you working as a team through technical rapids such as 'Zig-Zag' and 'Shark's Tooth', before reaching the final 'piece de la resistance': a two-tier, 18 foot drop (Grade IV) into Loch Faskally. Rafting on the dam-released River Tummel is only available during the Summer (June-Sept) - demand is high so book early!
A half-day rafting with Splash starts at £40 per person (£80 for Tay + Tummel) with discounts available for children & groups of 10+, including all equipment plus an experienced raft guide, trip leader and logistics manager, and free professional photography.
