How about watching a mountain sunrise for that special birthday?

Escape to a remote glen and camp by a mountain stream, eat your dinner under the stars (maybe even see the Northern Lights)?

A two or three day expedition into one of Scotland's wilderness areas?

Hill Walking

We offer a variety of day walks, to suit all tastes and fitness levels. Choose from one of our suggestions, or plan your own. Transport from Aviemore is included.

Example Short Day (4-5 hours) - Chalamain Gap:
Through a rocky ravine and into the impressive gash of the Lairig Ghru, then back through the pine forests of Rothiemurchus and Glenmore.

Example Full Day (6-8 hours) - Ben Macdui and Cairngorm:

Ben Macdui is the second highest mountain in the UK after Ben Nevis.  This walk takes us across the airy Cairngorm plateau - we look down into the deep gash of the Lairig Ghru, and walk above the cliffs of Loch Avon, before heading back over the plateau to Cairngorm, the second Munro of the day, and the way down.

Example Full Day Plus (10 hours or longer) - Braeriach and Cairn Toul:

This walk takes in three of the Cairngorm Munros: Braeriach, Angel's Peak (Sgor an Lochain Uaine), and Cairn Toul, involving a walk above Braeriach's spectacular corries, followed by a trek back through the ravine of the Lairig Ghru. It's not for the faint hearted, as there are few short cuts, but we are rewarded with some of the best views in the Cairngorms.

We also offer private guiding - helping you to achieve your particular ambitions in the hills

Prices per person: £40 (Short Day) - £45 (Full Day) - £55 (Full Pay Plus).

Pivate guiding: from £100 (1 person) up to £200 (up to 6 people per day).

Wilderness Camping

2 day, 3 day, or longer expeditions into the wilds of the Cairngorms and other wilderness areas in the Highlands. We provide all expedition equipment - tent, sleeping bag and liner, thermal insulating ground mat, cooker, fuel, and expedition food (evening meals and breakfasts) - although you will help carry your fair share.

Example 3 day expedition - Remote Cairngorms:

Leaving Aviemore after breakfast on Saturday and getting back there late Monday afternoon. We carry all our equipment, but the walking is at a reasonably leisurely pace -we're there to enjoy ourselves, not for some sort of endurance test! Each afternoon, once we've found a suitable location to camp and pitched our tents, there will be the opportunity to walk to the top of one of the nearby hills: The Devil's Point, Ben Macdui, Derry Cairngorm, or Beinn Mheadhoin.

Prices per person:

2 days - from £200; 3 days - from £250
